Light-Steamed Sencha from Kawane, Shizuoka.
Kawane is nestled in the upper reaches of the Oi River,
a mountain region renowned as one of Japan’s finest tea-growing areas.
Its pure air, rich nature, and dramatic temperature differences
allow tea leaves to grow slowly, storing rich nutrients,
which results in a deeply aromatic and flavorful character.
Traditionally, Kawane tea is crafted using the light-steaming (Asamushi) method
that preserves the delicate shape and fragrance of the leaves.
When brewed, it reveals a clear golden liquor with
rounded umami, gentle sweetness, and refined astringency.
